Expert Network of the Textile Flooring Industry

Value is created when specialists from different fields combine their knowledge

For over two decades, the members of the werterhalt.org working group have been collaborating with leading experts in the flooring industry to promote the sustainable preservation of the value of textile floor coverings.

Manufacturer

The werterhalt.org working group was founded on the conviction that preserving the value of carpet flooring is more important than competition among individual manufacturers. More than 20 years ago, at the initiative of Paul GeiĂŸler, application engineers from leading carpet manufacturers came together to develop, for the first time, cross-manufacturer guidelines for maintenance and cleaning. To this day, they prioritize their shared professional goal over individual product interests. The result is manufacturer-neutral recommendations based on technical realities—thereby promoting the long-term preservation of value and customer satisfaction.

Value Preserver

Preserving value begins long before a carpet becomes visibly soiled.
The werterhalt.org working group brings together specialized knowledge from various disciplines—ranging from the carpet, fiber, and adhesive industries to cleaning technology and independent experts. Paul GeiĂŸler GmbH complements this network of expertise with its in-depth understanding of cleaning systems—developed over more than 55 years—for the sustainable preservation of the value of textile floor coverings.
Sustainable value preservation begins with an understanding of the system.

Fibers & Materials

A high-quality textile floor covering begins long before it is installed. The development of modern fibers, backing materials, and other components requires highly specialized expertise. In collaboration with the fiber industry and carpet manufacturers, the werterhalt.org working group examines the entire life cycle of textile floor coverings—from material development and value retention to current requirements such as recycling and reuse. Only those who understand the materials can ensure their long-term value retention.

Adhesive Systems

Adhesives do much more than simply secure floor coverings to the subfloor. They are an essential component of modern textile floor coverings and influence their functionality, durability, and cleanability. In collaboration with the adhesives industry, the werterhalt.org working group examines the diverse requirements for adhesive systems—both within the floor covering itself and during its installation. This interdisciplinary expertise forms the basis for technically sound recommendations for preserving value.

Maintenance and Cleaning Equipment

The brush vacuum cleaner is the most important tool for carpet care.
In collaboration with manufacturers of professional cleaning equipment, the werterhalt.org working group develops recommendations for the daily maintenance cleaning of textile floor coverings. The brush vacuum cleaner forms the foundation of value preservation: It removes loose dirt, lifts the pile, and optimally prepares the carpet for any further cleaning measures.
The brush vacuum is far more than just a cleaning device—it is the foundation for the long-term preservation of the value of textile floor coverings.

Strategy & System Development

As spokesperson, Doris GeiĂŸler has been involved with the werterhalt.org working group since its founding, combining technical expertise with practical requirements.
Through Carpet Check, project-specific assessments, structured data collection, and technical analyses spanning more than two decades are integrated into the working group’s professional activities. This allows practical experience to be systematically recorded, evaluated, and utilized for the continuous refinement of recommendations.
Carpet Check makes experience measurable—thereby laying the foundation for sound decisions and sustainable value preservation.
